As we continue thoughts of building our own house, we’ve considered whether there might be an opportunity within the area we currently live.
Apart from the availability of land in the first place, the other issue would be getting planning permission. It just so happens that the parish council in Steeple Aston have begun talks in conjunction with 10 other parishes to discuss the formation of a neighbourhood plan.
Such a plan would be guided by the opinion of the local communities and form a statutory document that must be considered by the wider district council as they plan for future housing needs.
One of the first steps in the process is to open the debate with a series of forum meetings – I attended this one at the Steeple Aston village hall.
